Background of Student’s First Foundation
As someone who understands the value of education and its transformative power, our CEO wanted to share the background of the Students First Foundation.
In 2019, Jim Lee wanted to support the parents of a new local private school. Due to the circumstances life can sometimes bring, Jim recognized the critical need for alternative education choices.
Growing up in an underprivileged area during his youth, Mr. Lee felt that the public school system failed him in addition to many of his peers. It seemed as though they were overlooked, judged, and undervalued. It was as if they were looked at as a number that was part of a daily checklist, not as a student deserving of investment. Unfortunately, like so many other students in Arizona, Mr. Lee was not afforded the opportunity of choice in his education. He felt his only option was to drop out of high school.
Mr. Lee remembers those days vividly and vowed that if he ever had the ability to create enough change to help those in need, regardless of religion, race, or circumstance, he would make it happen. In the end, he did. He worked diligently when starting the Students First Foundation, a non-profit that helps provide financial scholarships for parents who have chosen private education as the better option for their students. Mr. Lee urged not only his friends and colleagues, but his very own family to donate because giving back changes lives.
Today, Mr. Lee is proud of this foundation and the opportunities it has provided so many in Arizona. Investing in scholarships is not just about funding a student's education; it is about unlocking doors to opportunities, empowering dreams, and fostering positive change for a lifetime.
